Personal Stats

She has lived all over the country but did most of her growing up in Waco, TX (yes, that one, and no, she doesn’t know Chip or Joanna Gaines). She attended Rice University for her BS in Bioengineering and BA in English (Go Owls!). Her husband, Nate, works in TV news at WFTV in Orlando, and they have a sweet daughter, Lizzy. Together they have 5 pets – an elderly Dachshund adopted during vet school (Fiona), a rescued Cavalier (Archer), a Goldendoodle puppy (Star), an orange tabby adopted during vet school (Hodgins), and a tuxedo cat Lizzy picked out from a clinic during COVID isolation (Sparrow).

Favorite Parts of Her Job

Meeting people and their pets and building relationships and teamwork that ultimately help the pets live longer, happier lives; solving medical puzzles; the satisfaction of fixing things; every day is a little bit different!

Dislikes

Seafood- if it lived in the water, she won’t eat it; cancer; hurricanes

Difficult blood or urine collection; handling kitties- the grumpier the better
